Friday marked a very ‘different’ day in the history of Collingwood Learning, as we found ourselves doing things in ways we have never done before …

It started with a team ‘zoom’ meeting which, as I’m sure is the same for many of you, has fast become a part of our daily routine and a great way of keeping us all in contact while working apart, in our own homes. To add a bit of fun and pizazz to the occasion, it was declared ‘dress up Friday’ which meant that each team member had to ‘attend’ in costume. What fun we had! Lee was an octopus (complete with background ocean scene), Chris dressed as a Mummy (he assured us that all toilet paper was to be re-used and would not go to waste) and Katy May came as a clown (no comment! ;0) ).

Later that day, we also attended our first ever ‘Online’ Awards ceremony with the Education Resources Awards. All dressed up with nowhere to go and a glass of something nice in hand, we were joined online by almost all of the Collingwood Team, including Chris’ parents and our lovely partners at Scriba PR, Diageo GB and Portland to mark the occasion.

Finalists in two awards categories; Free Education Resource and Education Exporter of The Year, we were thrilled to be announced winners of the latter!

Judges commented that the Smashed Project is ‘A great, high impact intervention in tackling the worldwide problem of underage drinking. We were impressed by this innovative approach, by Collingwood’s business model, and by their eagerness to extend their reach to an international audience.’
We are so excited to be able to add this accolade to our recent achievements and are looking forward to the year ahead with positivity, and hope for the further growth and development of the Smashed Project and Collingwood Learning, both Internationally and in the UK.

What a way to end one of the strangest weeks in all our years of business. Like most of you, we are finding new ways to exist on this untrodden path but we are discovering it can also be quite fun.
