Professionals from across education, social care, healthcare, local government, the police and charity sector have engaged with Real Safeguarding Stories to explore and consider the complexities of real-life safeguarding cases.

Led by a passionate team of educators, creatives, and subject-matter-experts; our mission is to take these profoundly negative lived experiences and turn them into a driver of positive transformation in safeguarding practice.

Developed over seven years, our bank of films were developed by working carefully with victims and survivors, enabling them to tell their stories in a safe space. 

We then anonymise and script their experiences into a story, filmed with a professional actor.

Inspired by a commissioned training event for Bradford Council and the subsequent viral use of the films by many public sector partners, Real Safeguarding Stories films and live events are a firm fixture in many organisation’s training calendars.

Recognised for its excellence, Real Safeguarding Stories was a winner at the PPMA People Management Excellence Awards 2017 and the Local Government Chronicle Awards 2019.
